Palm Debuts Its Smallest Colour Organiser Yet

Affordable Palm Z22 Organiser Combines Form and Functionality in One of Palm's Sleekest Handhelds

SYDNEY, Oct. 12, 2005 – For busy people who want to manage every organisational aspect of their lives in style and simplicity, it's never been easier than with the Palm ® Z22 organiser, one of two new products from Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) announced today. An easy-to-use and compact colour handheld, the Palm Z22 organiser brings great features in a well-designed and compact form factor, and is the most affordable colour handheld from Palm yet. It holds thousands of contacts, years of appointments, birthdays and photos, and its special memory capability keeps the information safe, even if the user forgets to charge the device.

[NOTE: Palm also today announced the Palm TX handheld.]

With the introduction of the Palm Z22 organiser, Palm is targeting the paper-planner market, which is a $1 billion per year market in the US alone. Research conducted by Palm suggests a substantial population of late technology adopters have been hesitant to buy handhelds, fearing handhelds are too difficult to use. The Palm Z22 organiser offers paper-planner users – as well as others – an extremely simple and fun way to stay organised. New users will find the three-step set-up process for the organiser incredibly easy. Users also will find that keeping track of their to-do lists, busy schedules, family and friends' contact information, shopping lists and birthdays all in one small place is useful and simple. To ease the transition from paper planners to the Palm Z22 organiser, Palm includes an organisational booklet with tips and vignettes on how to be more organised.

Weighing just under 100 grams and about the same size as a deck of playing cards, the Palm Z22 organiser is compact and stylish with its white front and translucent blue backing. Small enough to fit into any handbag, backpack or back pocket, it boasts a bright, colour display, making it easy for users to read names and addresses. They can even colour-code appointments, and view and carry pictures of their friends and family wherever they go.

"The Palm Z22 organiser was built on the success of the original Zire™ handheld, which sold more than 1 million units in its first seven months on the market," said Paul Blinkhorn, vice president for Palm Asia Pacific. "With its highly desirable design and sleek form-factor, the Palm Z22 is perfect for first-time users who can now throw away their paper planners, replacing scratched-out pages and dozens of sticky notes, and for the style conscious to keep their lives and information organised in a single device and yet be an avenue for expressing their individual style and taste."

Benefits of the Palm Z22 Organiser Over Paper Planners
• Organises information easily. Everything is super-simple – a touch of a button brings up appointments, addresses, restaurant recommendations and more. No more flipping through multiple pages, looking for scraps of paper or keeping track of to-do lists.
• Keeps information safe. Even if the user forgets to charge the device, the Palm Z22's memory will keep information safe. All information also can be backed up easily on the user's PC.
• Reminds users of important events. Set reminders to return a rented video, to remember birthdays, or simply to wake up from a long-overdue nap.
• Saves time. Users won't have to enter the same thing twice. Enter a recurring appointment once and tell the Palm Z22 organiser how often to repeat it.
• Carries digital photos. Show photos to family and friends on the bright colour screen. Included software makes transferring photos from the computer a snap.
