Update 1.20 for the Treo 650
Missing data? Looping resets? Errors? If you encounter issues while trying to install the Treo 650 Updater, see our troubleshooting suggestions.
Was the update successful?
To check if the update worked:- Press Phone/Send

- Press Menu

- From the Options menu, select Phone Info (/I).
- If the update was successful, the Software version number will be Treo650-1.20-LAP.
Restore data and settings
When you sync after the update is complete, the smartphone data that was backed up will be restored. Here's how to restore a few items that are not backed up via HotSync:
- Bluetooth pairing
If you paired Bluetooth wireless devices, you will need to re-pair those devices now. The secure pairing files are not backed up or restored with synchronisation. See your user guide for more about Bluetooth settings on your device.
- Wireless email and calendar
Programs that sync wirelessly only, such as Exchange ActiveSync and Xpress Mail, may appear to be missing data until a wireless sync occurs. Perform a manual wireless sync to restore emails, calendar appointments, and other items.
- Treo Voice Dialing
If you previously had this software on your smartphone, you will need to re-download and re-install it. It is not backed up and restored when you sync. If you kept a record of your registration key when you purchased Treo Voice Dialing, re-enter the registration key when asked. If you lost the registration key, you'll need to contact Handango for a replacement registration number based on your smartphone's electronic serial number. At the time of writing, Handango can be reached at 817-548-2153 or support@handango.com.

Personal data is missing or incorrect
- Did you perform the final HotSync operation? Sync again if necessary. Select your existing user name if asked.
- Did you select the incorrect user name when you synchronised? Your data is tied to a specific user name. When you sync after the update is complete, you need to select the user name you had before the update. Here's how to change back to the correct user name and restore your data:
- Perform a hard reset. This wipes out the current (incorrect) user name and user data, but your smartphone will retain the update.
- Synchronise. Important: When asked for your user name, select the old user name you were using before you changed it. The backed up personal data and applications will be restored to your smartphone.
- Programs that sync wirelessly only, such as Exchange ActiveSync and Express Mail, may appear to be missing data until a wireless sync occurs. Perform a manual wireless sync if necessary, then check your data.
