Australia, March 28, 2003 -- Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) today
announced that the Palm(TM) Tungsten(TM) W handheld, its first
integrated wireless handheld, is now available in Australia
for $1,199 RRP (without carrier activation) or with a range
of prices and plans on the Vodafone network. Detailed information

The Tungsten W handheld is the first Palm branded integrated
tri-band GSM(TM)/GPRS wireless handheld, featuring a built-in
keyboard for easy data entry; one-handed navigation; a crisp,
320 x 320 high-resolution colour screen; a powerful battery
for up to 10 hours of talk time; and dual expansion via the
Palm Expansion Slot and the Palm Universal Connector. With
carrier activation, the new data-centric handheld allows users
to make and receive calls, access email, send and receive
text messages, and access Internet content, all on one device.(1)
The device is built with one of the fastest radios available
today for GSM/GPRS, the most widely supported wireless technology
used by hundreds of operators worldwide.
When purchasing the Palm Tungsten W handheld, customers will
receive a MultiMediaCard containing a simple step-by-step
guide to configure the device for use on the Vodafone network,
set up real-time email and load special handheld websites.
This removes some of the technical complexity users experience
when setting up wireless data services and makes the Tungsten
W handheld a true user-friendly device. This MultiMediaCard
configuration process is the only one of its kind in Australia
-- unique to the Palm Tungsten W handheld.
