Before you start
- Plug your smartphone into a power outlet and keep it plugged in throughout the update.
- Ensure your smartphone has at least 26MB free space. Palm recommends 26MB of free space to ensure proper operation. Check free memory.
- Make sure HotSync Manager is installed on your desktop PC (not required for Windows Vista or IT/enterprise instructions, which use an expansion card to install the update).
- Keep an eye on your smartphone during the update. Respond to prompts and alerts in a timely manner.
- Do not leave your smartphone idle for too long while it's updating. The process can fail if you leave your smartphone unattended.
- Do not reset, turn off, or unplug your device until the update is complete.
- If installing through an expansion card: do not use a miniSD expansion card with an adapter. This can cause problems with the update. Instead, use a regular, full-sized SD or MMC expansion card.
