Palm Export Compliance Policy
Effective July 1, 2010, Palm, Inc. (“Palm”) was acquired by Hewlett Packard Company (“HP”). However, Palm is still importing and exporting as a separate legal entity. The information here relates to product that is produced by Palm that may be imported or exported by Palm and HP.
Palm is committed to attaining full compliance with all applicable export control laws, regulations and policies of the governmental authorities having jurisdiction over Palm’s export and re-export operations.
To comply with these laws, Palm prohibits export and re-export of Palm hardware, software, services, and technology to destinations subject to U.S. trade sanctions and embargoes as well as to persons and entities designated on U.S. government agency denied party lists. The current list of embargoed countries per United States export control regulations includes Cuba, Iran, North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea), Sudan, and Syria.
Palm products provide encryption features that are subject to the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security’s (“BIS”) Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) as well as other US government agency laws. BIS (http://www.bis.doc.gov/) has reviewed Palm’s hardware and software products and assigned EAR classifications that are listed in the matrix below.
