Security Update
for Treo 680
When the Treo 680 smartphone password protection is enabled, the password protection can be partially circumvented by running the Find feature while on the "Make Emergency Call" screen. This would allow a malicious user to view a list of search results from the Treo 680's built-in applications such as Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Memos and Email. The malicious user cannot access or display anything beyond the search results list. An update is now available to address this.
Download & install
- When you click on the link below, installation will begin. But first, read these instructions and make sure you understand them.
- After you click the link, you'll be asked where to save the file. Select Save To: Applications. Then select Save. When asked if you want to accept "Treo700p680SecurityInstaller.prc" into Applications, select Yes.
- Once you've downloaded the software, press Applications

- Tap on the application named 700p 680 Security (appears as "700p 680…" or "700p 680 Se…" in the launcher). Select OK to begin installation.
- When the update is complete, you will be asked to select OK to perform a soft reset.
