Infrared (IR) Software Update for Treo 700p Smartphones
This software update is designed to resolve an issue when using the IR port on Treo 700p smartphones with certain 3rd party devices. Once installed, the Treo 700p smartphone will work as expected.
Do I need this software?
If your smartphone has already been updated, you may not need this software. Here's how to find out:
- Press Phone/Send

- Press Menu

- From the Options menu, select Phone Info.
- On the Phone Info screen, look for the Software item.
If you see any of the following ...
- Treo700p-1.08-SPNT
- Treo700p-1.06-VZW
... then you should install this update.
How to install
- When you click on the download link below, installation will begin. But first, read these instructions and make sure you understand them.
- After you click the download link, you'll be asked where to save the file. Select Save To: Applications. Then select Save. When asked if you want to accept "Treo700p_IR_Update.prc" into Applications, select Yes.
- Once you've downloaded the software over-the-air, press Applications

- Tap on the application named IR Update.
- When the update is complete, tap "OK" to perform a soft reset.
